IEC61000

IEC 61000 is a series of international standards published by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) that deals with electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). EMC refers to the ability of electrical and electronic equipment to function satisfactorily in its electromagnetic environment without introducing intolerable electromagnetic disturbances to anything in that environment. The IEC 61000 series is a comprehensive set of documents that covers both electromagnetic disturbances (emissions) and electromagnetic susceptibility (immunity).

The standards within the IEC 61000 series are divided into several parts, each addressing a specific aspect of EMC. These parts cover areas such as electrostatic discharge (ESD), radiated and conducted emissions, radiated and conducted immunity, and surge immunity. They define test methods, performance criteria, and limits for various types of equipment and environments.
