Hönnunarhugsun, or design thinking, is a human-centered approach to problem-solving. The core phases of design thinking are typically described as empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test. Following ideation, the prototype phase involves creating inexpensive, scaled-down versions of potential solutions. These prototypes can range from simple sketches and storyboards to more interactive models. Finally, the test phase involves putting these prototypes in front of users to gather feedback. This feedback is then used to refine the solutions, leading back to earlier stages of the design thinking process if necessary. Design thinking is applicable across many disciplines, including business, education, and social innovation, as it fosters creativity and a deep understanding of human needs.
