Härtezustände

Härtezustände refers to the various states of hardness exhibited by materials, particularly metals. Hardness in this context is generally defined as the resistance of a material to plastic deformation, such as indentation, scratching, or wear. It is a crucial property that influences a material's suitability for different applications.

Several factors contribute to the Härtezustände of a material. These include its chemical composition, the presence of alloying elements, its microstructure, and its thermal or mechanical history. For instance, heat treatment processes like hardening and tempering are specifically designed to alter the Härtezustände of steel by changing its internal structure.
