Házon

Házon is the adessive singular form of the Hungarian noun ház (house). In Hungarian grammar, the adessive marks location relative to a referent and answers questions such as where something is located. The form házon is produced by adding the adessive suffix to the stem ház; other nouns use different variants of the same suffix (-on, -en, -ön) according to phonology, but for ház the form is házon.

In use, házon indicates a location in relation to the house and appears in phrases that describe placement or position. It is most commonly seen as part of fixed locative expressions, such as házon belül meaning inside the house, and házon kívül meaning outside the house. These expressions illustrate how the adessive forms function together with postpositions or adjectives to convey precise spatial meaning.
