Hutfeudalist is a term that has emerged in online discussions, particularly within communities focused on critiques of contemporary societal structures and economic systems. It describes a hypothetical or emergent form of social organization that blends elements of feudalism with modern technological advancements, often referred to as "digital feudalism" or "techno-feudalism." The core concept suggests a future where a small, powerful elite, analogous to feudal lords, control essential digital infrastructure, data, and platforms. These digital overlords would then extract value and exert influence over a large population that is dependent on these platforms for work, communication, and daily life, much like serfs were dependent on land and their lords in historical feudalism.

The "hut" aspect of the term can be interpreted in several ways. It might refer to the perceived diminishment of individual autonomy and economic independence, forcing people into smaller, more constrained digital "huts" or enclosed digital spaces controlled by corporations. Alternatively, it could allude to the idea of a simplified, perhaps even rudimentary, existence for the majority, where basic needs are met through platform access, but true freedom or upward mobility is severely limited.
