Hrodebertus
Hrodebertus was a 7th‑century Anglo‑Saxon clergyman who served as a missionary bishop in the Frankish kingdoms. Little contemporary documentation survives, but he is mentioned in the Vita S. Galli and in a handful of later hagiographical collections compiled in the 9th century. His name, meaning “bright ruler” in Old English, was translated into Latin as Hrodebertus when he is recorded in the annals of the Abbey of Saint Martin at Tours.
