AngloFrankish refers to the cultural and political sphere that emerged from the close relationship between Anglo-Saxon England and the Frankish kingdoms, particularly during the Carolingian era. This period, roughly from the 8th to the 11th centuries, saw significant exchange in various domains, including religion, scholarship, and governance.

Missionaries from the Frankish realm, such as St. Boniface, played a crucial role in the Christianization of Germanic peoples and also had influence in England. Conversely, English scholars and ecclesiastics, like Alcuin of York, became prominent figures in the Carolingian Renaissance, contributing to intellectual revival at the court of Charlemagne. This intellectual cross-pollination facilitated the spread of classical learning and monastic reforms.

Politically, the relationship was complex, marked by alliances and sometimes conflict. English rulers engaged with Frankish monarchs, and there were instances of military cooperation and diplomatic missions.
