Hrimthurs

Hrimthurs is a term originating from Old Norse mythology, translating roughly to "frost giants" or "rime giants." They are a race of beings who inhabit Jotunheim, one of the Nine Worlds. Unlike some other mythical beings, the Hrimthurs are often depicted as primordial and ancient, predating even the gods. Their nature is generally associated with the cold, ice, and chaos, representing the untamed forces of nature.

The Hrimthurs are frequently portrayed as adversaries to the Æsir, the primary pantheon of gods in Norse mythology, led by Odin. Notable Hrimthurs include Ymir, the first being, from whose corpse the world was formed, and Surtr, a fire giant who plays a significant role in Ragnarök, the prophesied end of the world.
