Hovedredningssentraler
Hovedredningssentraler, often abbreviated as HRS, are the central command and control units responsible for coordinating all rescue operations within a specific geographical area. In Norway, there are two Hovedredningssentraler: one located in Bodø and the other in Stavanger. These centers operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and are staffed by highly trained personnel who manage complex rescue missions.
The primary role of a Hovedredningssentral is to receive distress signals, assess the situation, and dispatch
The establishment of Hovedredningssentraler is a crucial element of a nation's search and rescue (SAR) system.
