Homopolyeerit

Homopolyeerit are a class of polymers composed of only one type of repeating monomer unit. This means that the long molecular chain of a homopolymer is built from identical building blocks. In contrast, copolymers are formed from two or more different types of monomer units.

The properties of a homopolymer are directly determined by the chemical structure of its single repeating monomer. For example, polyethylene, a very common plastic, is a homopolymer made from repeating ethylene monomers. Its flexibility, strength, and melting point are all consequences of the ethylene unit's structure and how these units link together.
