Hocotatians

Hocotatians are a fictional alien species from the Pikmin video game series. They originate from the planet Koppai. They are known for their short, round stature, with large eyes and antennae. Their skin color varies but is often depicted as yellow or orange.

These beings are highly intelligent and technologically advanced, particularly in the fields of space travel and resource management. Their society appears to be driven by exploration and the acquisition of vital resources, often in a desperate effort to sustain their home planet, Koppai, which has faced severe environmental degradation and resource depletion. The Hocotatian Exploration Company is a prominent organization on Koppai, responsible for sending expeditions to other planets.

Hocotatians are often portrayed as somewhat eccentric and prone to financial woes. Their ventures into space are frequently motivated by the need to find valuable resources to pay off debts or to simply survive. Despite their sometimes comical predicaments, they are generally depicted as well-meaning individuals. The most prominent Hocotatian character is Captain Olimar, whose interplanetary travels are central to the plot of the Pikmin games. He is often accompanied by his co-worker, Louie, another Hocotatian with a peculiar appetite.
