Hjarta is a fictional coastal country in the northern archipelago of the fantasy world of Eldoria. The name, from the Hjartic word for "heart," denotes its symbolic role as a political and economic hub. The realm comprises twelve major islands linked by ferries and bridges.

Geography and environment: The islands span temperate to subarctic climates. Southern shores are sheltered and busy with ports; northern coasts are rocky and windy. Inland, pine and spruce forests give way to fjords and grassy highlands. Marine waters sustain rich fisheries.

History: Settlement began in the early medieval era. The Hjartic League formed in the 11th century, evolving into a centralized state. It modernized in the 19th century and adopted a written constitution in 1922, establishing regular elections and civil institutions.

Politics and government: Hjarta is a constitutional monarchy with a democratically elected parliament. The monarch serves a largely ceremonial role, while executive power rests with a prime minister and cabinet. Local governments oversee education, policing, and infrastructure.
