Hitéleten

Hitéleten is a lesser-known Hungarian folk dance that originates from the Transdanubian region, particularly in villages around Lake Balaton. The term "hitéleten" combines the Hungarian words *hitet* (meaning "faith" or "belief") and *tánc* (meaning "dance"), suggesting a dance with deep cultural or spiritual significance. While its exact origins are unclear, it is believed to have roots in traditional peasant celebrations, possibly linked to harvest festivals or seasonal rituals.

The dance is characterized by its lively, rhythmic movements, often performed in a circle or line formation.
