Histidinfoszforiláció, also known as histidine phosphorylation, is a post-translational modification where a phosphate group is attached to the imidazole ring of a histidine residue in a protein. This modification is reversible and plays a crucial role in regulating protein function, cellular signaling, and metabolic pathways. Unlike the phosphorylation of serine, threonine, and tyrosine, which occurs on hydroxyl groups, histidine phosphorylation occurs on a nitrogen atom within the imidazole side chain.
