Hintasäännöstelyä is a Finnish term that translates to price controls or price regulation. It refers to a government intervention aimed at setting or influencing the prices of goods and services in a market. This can take various forms, such as setting maximum prices (price ceilings), minimum prices (price floors), or fixing specific prices.

The primary goal of hintasäännöstelyä is often to ensure the affordability of essential goods, protect consumers from excessive price increases, or stabilize certain markets. It can be implemented during periods of high inflation, economic crisis, or to address market failures where competition is insufficient.
