Hiidenkirnut
Hiidenkirnut, also known as "wizard's wells" or "devil's stones," are a type of geologically formed rock formation characterized by shallow, bowl-shaped depressions or pits carved into bedrock. These features are primarily found in Finland, especially in the eastern and southern parts of the country, but similar formations exist in other regions of northern Europe.
The formation of hiidenkirnut is believed to result from glacial erosion and the repeated action of freezing
Hiidenkirnut vary in size, typically ranging from a few centimeters to several meters in diameter and depth.
Today, hiidenkirnut are recognized as unique geological features and are popular hiking and nature observation destinations.
