Herrenhaus
Herrenhaus is a German term for the main residence of a landholding lord or noble in German-speaking areas. The word combines Herr, meaning master or lord, with Haus, house, and refers to the principal house within an estate, distinguished from ancillary buildings, farmhouses, or tenants' homes. In historical contexts, the Herrenhaus was the administrative center of a manor and often formed the focal point of the surrounding landscape, sometimes accompanying a park, gardens, or outbuildings.
