Hermannene, also known as the Cherusci, were a Germanic tribe who inhabited the region of Lower Saxony in Germany around the time of the Roman Empire. They are famously known for their pivotal role in the Battle of the Teutoburg Forest in 9 CE, where under the leadership of Arminius, they annihilated three Roman legions.
