Herkkyyshäiriöitä, or hypersensitivity disorders, are a group of conditions characterized by an exaggerated or atypical response to sensory stimuli. These stimuli can include sights, sounds, smells, tastes, touch, movement, or even internal bodily sensations. Individuals experiencing hypersensitivity may find everyday environments overwhelming or distressing due to the intensity of their sensory processing.

Commonly, hypersensitivity is associated with neurodevelopmental conditions such as autism spectrum disorder and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
