Hebburn

Hebburn is a town located in South Tyneside, Tyne and Wear, England. It lies on the south bank of the River Tyne, approximately 4 miles west of South Shields and 3 miles east of Gateshead. Historically, Hebburn was a centre for coal mining and shipbuilding, playing a significant role in the industrial heritage of the region.

The town's development accelerated in the late 19th and early 20th centuries due to the expansion of heavy industry. Many of its residents were employed in the local shipyards and the nearby collieries. Like many industrial towns, Hebburn experienced economic challenges with the decline of these traditional industries.
