Hasnyálmirigyrendellenesség refers to a range of conditions affecting the pancreas, a gland located behind the stomach. This organ plays a crucial role in digestion by producing enzymes that break down food and in regulating blood sugar by producing hormones like insulin and glucagon.

Common pancreatic disorders include pancreatitis, which is inflammation of the pancreas. This can be acute, a sudden and severe condition often caused by gallstones or alcohol abuse, or chronic, a long-term inflammation that can lead to permanent damage. Symptoms of pancreatitis can include severe abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and fever.

Another significant disorder is pancreatic cancer, a serious and often aggressive disease. Early stages may be asymptomatic, making diagnosis challenging. Symptoms can include jaundice (yellowing of the skin and eyes), abdominal pain, unexplained weight loss, and changes in stool.

Diabetes mellitus, particularly type 1, is also linked to pancreatic dysfunction, as the pancreas fails to produce enough insulin. Conditions like cystic fibrosis can also impact the pancreas, leading to the production of thick, sticky mucus that can block ducts and impair enzyme function.

Diagnosis of pancreatic disorders often involves blood tests to check enzyme levels, imaging techniques such as ultrasound, CT scans, or MRI, and sometimes biopsies. Treatment varies widely depending on the specific condition and can range from dietary changes and medication to surgery or other specialized therapies. Early detection and appropriate management are key to improving outcomes for individuals with pancreatic abnormalities.
