Haplotyping is a genetic technique used to determine the arrangement of genetic variants, such as single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), along a chromosome. The term "haplotype" refers to a set of closely linked genetic markers that are inherited together from a single parent. Haplotyping helps researchers and clinicians understand how genetic variations are structured within populations and individuals, providing insights into disease susceptibility, evolutionary biology, and population genetics.

The process involves sequencing or genotyping specific regions of DNA to identify patterns of inherited variants.
