Hankautuu
Hankautuu is a Finnish verb that translates to "to rub against," "to chafe," or "to graze." It describes a situation where one object or surface comes into contact with another and friction occurs. This friction can be gentle or more forceful, depending on the context. For instance, a boat might hankautuu against a dock, or a piece of clothing might hankautuu against the skin, causing discomfort.
The verb can also be used metaphorically. For example, two conflicting ideas might be described as hankautuu,
