Hanese

Hanese is an archipelagic nation in the Midsea, consisting of seven inhabited islands. It is a parliamentary republic with a president as head of state and a prime minister as head of government. The capital is Hanaito. The official language is Hanese; minority languages include Selkish and Morin. The population is about 2.0 million.

Geography and climate: The islands range from low-lying coastlines to volcanic highlands; the archipelago sits in the temperate portion of the Midsea. The climate is maritime subtropical, with mild winters and warm, humid summers; rainfall is seasonal, with the heaviest precipitation during the monsoon months.

History and government: Indigenous communities settled the islands by the 11th century. The archipelago was unified in the 1640s under the House of Han, and gained full independence from the Ardent Empire in 1863. In the late 20th century, Hanese established a constitutional framework and joined regional economic accords.

Economy and culture: The economy is diversified, with fisheries, aquaculture, light manufacturing, tourism and information technology contributing to growth. Main exports include seafood, processed foods and electronics components. Social policy emphasizes universal healthcare and education. Cultural life centers on maritime heritage, seafood cuisine, and festivals such as the Sea Festival in summer.
