Hammattomat

Hammattomat is a Finnish rock band formed in Helsinki in 1979. The group's original lineup consisted of Teijo Kekkonen on vocals, Seppo Tynkkynen on guitar, Jari Kärkkäinen on bass, and Jukka Lampinen on drums. They released their debut album, "Rock'n'Roll", in 1980, followed by "Kaaos" in 1982. Hammattomat were known for their energetic live performances and a sound that blended punk rock with elements of new wave.

The band experienced several lineup changes throughout their career. Key members who joined and contributed significantly include keyboardist Ari Lampinen and guitarist Riku Mattila. Their third album, "Viimeinen ilta", released in 1984, saw a slight shift in their musical direction, incorporating more melodic and atmospheric elements. Hammattomat released a total of four studio albums before disbanding in 1987.

Despite their relatively short career, Hammattomat left a notable mark on the Finnish rock scene of the 1980s. Their music often explored themes of youth, rebellion, and social commentary, resonating with a generation. Although they did not achieve widespread international fame, they remain a respected name among Finnish music enthusiasts. The band's discography is generally characterized by its raw energy and distinctive vocal delivery. Some of their more recognized songs include "Säpinää" and "Kadun pojat".
