Hammasratasülekanne

Hammasratasülekanne refers to a gear drive system in Estonian. It is a mechanical system used to transmit rotational motion and torque between two or more rotating shafts. This transmission is achieved through the meshing of teeth on gears. The fundamental principle involves one gear, the driving gear, turning a second gear, the driven gear, by engaging its teeth with the teeth of the driven gear.

The ratio of the number of teeth on the driving gear to the number of teeth on the driven gear determines the speed and torque ratio of the transmission. A smaller driving gear meshing with a larger driven gear will result in a reduction in rotational speed but an increase in torque. Conversely, a larger driving gear meshing with a smaller driven gear will increase rotational speed while decreasing torque.
