Halestorm

Halestorm is an American rock band formed in Red Lion, Pennsylvania, in 1997 by siblings Lzzy Hale (vocals and guitar) and Arejay Hale (drums). The group has since evolved into a four-piece lineup with guitarist Joe Hottinger and bassist Josh Smith. Halestorm is known for a hard rock sound that blends blues-influenced riffs with melodic hooks and emphatic vocals, and for its energetic live performances.

Its self-titled debut album Halestorm was released in 2009 and helped establish the band on the national scene with singles such as I Get Off and Dirty Little Secret. The follow-up, The Strange Case of..., released in 2012, included the hits I Miss the Misery and Love Bites (So Do I). Love Bites won the Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance in 2013, making Halestorm one of the few female-fronted acts to win in that category.

Subsequent albums include Into the Wild Life (2015), Vicious (2018), and Back from the Dead (2022). The band has charted on the Billboard 200 and has toured extensively, both headlining and at major festivals. Their work maintains a balance of heavy, riff-driven songs and more melodic rock tunes, with themes ranging from resilience to empowerment.

Halestorm is cited as part of a wave of female-fronted hard rock acts that gained wider recognition in the 2010s and 2020s, and they have influenced newer generations of rock musicians.
