Haladás

Haladás is a Hungarian term meaning progress or forward movement. In general usage it refers to improvement, development, or advancement in physical, social, economic, or intellectual domains. The word is widely found in political, cultural, and discursive contexts to describe positive change or modernization efforts, as in reforms, infrastructure projects, or scientific breakthroughs.

Linguistically, haladás is formed from the verb halad (to move forward) with the nominal suffix -ás. The concept can carry normative implications, depending on the values of the speaker or society, and may be contrasted with stagnation or regression.

In philosophy and social theory, debates about haladás often parallel discussions of progress.
