Hadseregek

Hadseregek is the Hungarian term for a state's armed forces. It denotes the organized military forces responsible for national defense and related security tasks, coordinated by civilian authorities according to national law. The exact structure of hadseregek varies by country, but they are generally referred to by the collective term rather than individual branches.

Typical components include land forces (army), air forces, and naval or maritime forces. Some states also include space, cyber, or specialized units, and may maintain paramilitary or reserve elements separate from regular forces.

Key functions include defending territorial integrity, deterring aggression, crisis response, support to civil authorities during disasters, and contributing to international peacekeeping and security operations.

Organization usually falls under civilian leadership, with a minister of defense or equivalent and a chain of command leading to a head of state or government. Most hadseregek rely on professional volunteer forces, while many countries also maintain conscription or reserve programs.
