Hacksägen
Hacksägen, or hacksaw, is a hand tool consisting of a U- or C-shaped frame that holds a thin, replaceable blade under tension. The blade is typically 12 inches (300 mm) long, though shorter 6–8 inch blades are common in junior models, and may be changed to suit different materials. The teeth are along one edge and are designed to cut on the forward stroke. Blades are available with varying tooth-per-inch (TPI) counts for different materials: coarse blades (low TPI) for soft metals and thicker cuts; fine blades (high TPI) for hard metals or precise work; specialized blades exist for plastic or wood.
