HTMLversiot

HTMLversiot refers to the different versions of the Hypertext Markup Language (HTML). HTML is the standard markup language used to create web pages and web applications. As the web has evolved, so too have the specifications for HTML, leading to various versions.

The earliest version was HTML 1.0, which was very basic and lacked many features we see today. HTML 2.0 followed, introducing more structure and capabilities. The most significant leap came with HTML 3.0 and later HTML 4.0 and 4.01, which introduced more advanced elements for layout, tables, and forms, becoming the de facto standard for many years.

A major shift occurred with HTML5. It was developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and the Web Hypertext Application Technology Working Group (WHATWG). HTML5 introduced semantic elements like article, nav, and aside, which improve accessibility and search engine optimization. It also brought new multimedia support with audio and video tags, eliminating the need for plugins like Flash. Furthermore, HTML5 includes features for offline web applications, drag-and-drop functionality, and improved form controls.

The development of HTML is now more continuous, with ongoing updates and refinements rather than distinct, large version releases. This ensures the language remains relevant and capable of supporting new web technologies and user experiences. Web browsers generally support the latest HTML standards, though older websites might still be built using older versions.
