HDMIverziói

HDMIverziói refers to the different versions of the High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) standard. Each version represents an advancement in the technology, offering increased bandwidth, support for higher resolutions, faster refresh rates, and new features.

The original HDMI 1.0 was released in 2002, supporting standard definition and high definition resolutions. Over time, subsequent versions have been introduced. HDMI 1.3 significantly increased bandwidth and introduced Deep Color. HDMI 1.4 added support for 4K resolution, 3D video, and Ethernet capabilities.

The most prominent recent versions are HDMI 2.0 and HDMI 2.1. HDMI 2.0, released in 2013, increased bandwidth to 18 Gbps, enabling 4K resolution at 60Hz and support for more audio channels. HDMI 2.1, introduced in 2017, offers a substantial leap with bandwidth up to 48 Gbps. This allows for significantly higher resolutions and refresh rates, such as 8K at 60Hz and 4K at 120Hz. HDMI 2.1 also introduces features like Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) for smoother gaming, Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), and enhanced Audio Return Channel (eARC).

Understanding HDMI versions is crucial for consumers when purchasing new displays, audio-visual equipment, or cables to ensure compatibility and to take advantage of the latest features and performance capabilities. Compatibility between devices with different HDMI versions is generally backward compatible, meaning a newer device can work with an older standard, but it will be limited by the capabilities of the older version.
