Gzeltávolítás

Gzeltávolítás is a Hungarian term that translates to "removal of the gallbladder" in English. This surgical procedure, medically known as a cholecystectomy, is performed to remove the gallbladder, a small organ located beneath the liver. The gallbladder's primary function is to store and release bile, which aids in the digestion of fats.

The most common reason for a gzeltávolítás is gallstones, which are hardened deposits of digestive fluid that can form in the gallbladder. These stones can cause pain, inflammation, and other complications. Other indications for the surgery include gallbladder polyps, gallbladder cancer, or severe gallbladder inflammation (cholecystitis) that does not respond to other treatments.

Gzeltávolítás is typically performed using one of two methods: laparoscopic cholecystectomy or open cholecystectomy. Laparoscopic surgery is the preferred method as it is minimally invasive, involving several small incisions and the use of a camera and specialized instruments. This approach generally leads to a shorter recovery time and less scarring. Open cholecystectomy involves a larger incision and is usually reserved for more complex cases or when laparoscopic surgery is not feasible.

After a gzeltávolítás, most individuals can live a normal life without a gallbladder. The liver continues to produce bile, and it is released directly into the small intestine. Some people may experience temporary digestive changes, such as diarrhea, but these often resolve over time. Dietary adjustments may be recommended to manage any persistent digestive issues.
