Gyökércsomókat

Gyökércsomókat, also known as root knots, are a type of gall caused by the feeding of certain nematode worms, specifically members of the genus Meloidogyne, on the roots of plants. These nematodes are microscopic roundworms that belong to the family Meloidogynidae. The most well-known species is Meloidogyne incognita, which is a significant pest of many crops, including tomatoes, potatoes, and cotton.

The feeding activity of these nematodes induces the formation of galls on the roots, which are swollen, knot-like structures. These galls provide a protective environment for the nematodes to feed and reproduce.
