Gujjars

Gujjar is a community found in Northern India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Historically, they have been associated with pastoralism and agriculture. The Gujjar population is spread across states like Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Punjab in India, as well as in parts of Pakistan.

The origin of the Gujjar community is debated among historians, with theories suggesting connections to ancient nomadic groups who migrated into the Indian subcontinent. The Gujjar language, often referred to as Gujari, is an Indo-Aryan language spoken by a significant portion of the community.
