Guideskenors

Guideskenors are a fictional species native to the planet Xylos in the Kepler-186 system. They are known for their intricate bio-luminescent markings which they use for communication and navigation in the dense, low-light forests of their homeworld. Physically, guideskenors are characterized by their tall, slender build, averaging around 2.5 meters in height, and their four prehensile limbs. Their skin is a mottled grey-green, providing camouflage against the Xylosian flora.

The species has a complex social structure, organized into nomadic family units called "lumin-clans." Each clan is led by an elder who possesses the most extensive knowledge of migratory paths and resource locations, passed down through generations via oral tradition and intricate light patterns. Guideskenors are primarily herbivorous, subsisting on a variety of fungi and subterranean roots. They possess a unique symbiotic relationship with certain bioluminescent mosses, which they cultivate and consume, further enhancing their own light-producing capabilities.

Their technology is largely organic, focusing on bio-engineering and manipulating natural Xylosian lifeforms. They have developed methods to guide airborne spores for atmospheric filtration and to create living structures for shelter. Their understanding of Xylos's magnetic fields is exceptionally advanced, allowing them to navigate vast distances with remarkable accuracy, hence their name. Encounters with off-world species are rare, and guideskenors are generally reclusive, preferring to avoid direct contact.
