Grunduddannelser
Grunduddannelser were a category of Danish youth education designed to provide foundational general and practical skills for learners who had not yet completed secondary education. They served as bridging programs aimed at preparing participants for further education, such as vocational training (erhvervsuddannelse) or general upper secondary education (gymnasiale uddannelser), as well as for entry into the labor market. Grunduddannelser typically combined instruction in core subjects—Danish, mathematics, English, and social studies—with practical training, work placements, and work-based learning elements. They emphasized individualized learning plans, guidance, and support to accommodate learners with different educational backgrounds and needs.
