Großbaggger

"Großbaggger" is a German-language term often encountered as a variant or misspelling of Großbagger, literally "large excavator." It denotes heavy-duty earthmoving machines used where very large volumes of material must be removed, moved or processed—most commonly in open-cast mining, major civil-engineering projects and large-scale dredging.

Large excavators take several technical forms, including hydraulic excavators with long booms and large buckets, crawler-mounted draglines with suspended buckets, and electrically driven bucket-wheel excavators designed for continuous removal in coal and mineral mines.
