GroupVÖle

GroupVÖle is a Berlin-based contemporary music group and vocal collective known for experimental vocal compositions and collaborative performance projects. They blend choral textures, vocal improvisation, electronic soundscapes, and field recordings.

The group was formed in 2013 by composers and vocalists Mara Klein and Theo Alder. It features a rotating roster of performers from music, dance, and visual art, enabling flexible lineups for each project.

Central to their work is the exploration of voice as primary instrument and social practice. They work with extended vocal techniques, microtonality, multilingual text, and live processing. Projects emphasize collective authorship and audience participation.

They have created several concept albums and site-specific installations, toured Europe, and collaborated with contemporary dancers and filmmakers. Notable collaborations include a series of performances in unconventional venues and residency projects at experimental art centers.

Their discography includes three studio albums: Voices in the Circle (2015), Night Chorus (2018), and Echoes of Dawn (2021).
