Gravitypohjiin

Gravitypohjiin is a Finnish word that translates to "gravity well" or "gravity pit" in English. It refers to a region of spacetime where gravity is significantly stronger than in the surrounding area, causing objects to be pulled towards it. These regions are often associated with massive celestial bodies such as stars, planets, and black holes.

The concept of a gravity well is often illustrated as a two-dimensional dip in a flat surface, where a heavy ball placed on the surface will roll towards the dip. In reality, gravity wells are three-dimensional distortions of spacetime caused by mass. The more massive an object, the deeper and more pronounced its gravity well. This gravitational pull is what keeps planets in orbit around stars and moons in orbit around planets.
