Grafiitikerros
Grafiitikerros refers to a layer or coating composed of graphite. Graphite is a crystalline allotrope of carbon with a unique layered structure. Each layer consists of hexagonal lattices of carbon atoms bonded together. These layers are held to each other by weak van der Waals forces, which allows them to slide easily over one another. This characteristic property is responsible for graphite's lubricating capabilities and its use in pencils. A grafiitikerros can be intentionally applied to a surface for various purposes or can occur as a natural deposit.
In industrial applications, a grafiitikerros might be used as a lubricant in high-temperature or high-pressure environments
