Glykolbasis

Glykolbasis refers to a foundation or base ingredient that primarily consists of glycols. Glycols are organic compounds that belong to the alcohol family, characterized by the presence of two hydroxyl groups. Ethylene glycol and propylene glycol are the most common examples used in glykolbasis formulations. These substances are valued for their ability to lower the freezing point and raise the boiling point of liquids, making them excellent components for antifreeze and de-icing solutions.

In various industries, glykolbasis is a key ingredient. In the automotive sector, it is the main component of engine coolant, preventing the coolant from freezing in cold weather and overheating in warm conditions. It also helps to prevent corrosion within the cooling system.
