These pieces are then sewn together to form the glove's shape. The most common method of construction involves creating individual finger sections and a palm piece, which are then joined.

Historically, glovemaking was a skilled trade, with artisans specializing in various types of gloves, from simple work gloves to elaborate ceremonial gauntlets. The choice of material significantly influences the glove's purpose and durability. Leather, particularly from animals like deer, lamb, or cow, is a popular choice for its flexibility and resilience.
