Globalisti

Globalisti is a term used in various languages, notably Italian and other Romance languages, to denote supporters of globalization or proponents of an internationalist political project. The term derives from globalism, and in everyday use it refers to individuals or groups who favor free trade, transnational institutions, and cross-border policy coordination. In political discourse, globalisti may refer to policymakers, business leaders, and technocrats who advocate multilateral agreements, open borders, and integration of economies and governance structures beyond national borders.

The term is often used polemically by critics of globalization to frame a policy consensus as a deliberate project of a centralized or cosmopolitan elite. In this sense it can function as part of pejorative rhetoric, and has been appropriated by conspiracy theories that claim a hidden globalist elite controls governments and economies; credible sources distinguish between policy debates about globalization and unfounded conspiracism.

In academic and policy debates, globalization is analyzed in terms of its economic, political, cultural, and environmental effects, with discussions about how to manage integration, address inequality, and preserve sovereignty. Proponents emphasize efficiency, innovation, and development, while opponents stress risks to domestic industries, labor standards, and democratic accountability.
