Globalisiert

Globaliziert is the past participle and adjectival form of the German verb globalisieren, meaning to globalize. It describes something that has undergone globalization or has acquired a global character. The term is used across contexts to denote the integration of economies, networks, cultures, or technologies on a worldwide scale.

In economics, globalisiert describes an economy with international trade, multinational production, and interconnected markets—for example, globalisierte Lieferketten (global supply chains) or eine globalisierte Wirtschaft (a globalized economy). In culture and media, it refers to products, ideas, and practices that circulate globally, often leading to cultural diffusion and homogenization as well as pluralization. In governance and technology, globalisierte Netzwerke and Plattformen connect actors worldwide.

The concept is linked to globalization (Globalisierung) and reflects the status of processes that are not confined by national borders. The term is common in German-language journalism, academia, and policy discussions since the late 20th century. It is sometimes contrasted with terms that emphasize localization or regionalization.
