Gleichungsverfahren

Gleichungsverfahren, meaning "equation methods" in German, refers to a class of mathematical techniques used to solve systems of equations. These methods are fundamental in various fields, including algebra, calculus, and engineering, for determining the values of unknown variables that satisfy multiple given equations simultaneously.

One common Gleichungsverfahren is substitution. In this method, one equation is solved for a single variable, and then that expression is substituted into the other equation(s). This reduces the number of variables, making the system easier to solve.

Another important technique is elimination. Here, equations are manipulated by multiplying them by constants and then adding or subtracting them from one another. The goal is to eliminate one variable from the system, leaving a simpler equation with fewer unknowns.
