Glaukoomalääkitys, known in English as glaucoma medication, refers to pharmacological treatments used to manage glaucoma. Glaucoma is a group of eye conditions that damage the optic nerve, which is vital for good vision. This damage is often caused by an abnormally high pressure in the eye, known as intraocular pressure (IOP). The primary goal of glaucoma medication is to reduce IOP to a level that prevents or slows down further optic nerve damage and vision loss.
