Glaslag

Glaslag is a term used in some Scandinavian contexts to denote a layer of glass within a larger glass assembly. It generally refers to a discrete glass ply that forms part of a multilayer or laminated glazing system, such as laminated safety glass or double- or triple-glazed units. The glaslag can function as one of several glass sheets in a stack, with interlayers providing bonding, separation, or additional properties.

In manufacturing and design discussions, a glaslag is described in relation to the overall glass assembly, the interlayer materials, and the purposes of the unit (such as safety, acoustic insulation, or thermal performance). The specific characteristics of a glaslag—thickness, composition, surface finish, and coating—affect optical transmission, glare, color neutrality, and impact resistance of the finished product.
