Gigantiasta
Gigantiasta is a genus of fossil plants belonging to the extinct order Gigantopteridales. These plants are known from the Permian period, with fossils found primarily in Asia. Gigantiasta plants were characterized by their large, broad leaves, which were often ovate or spatulate in shape. The venation pattern of these leaves was typically complex, with a prominent midrib and numerous dichotomously branching secondary veins.
The precise reproductive structures of Gigantiasta remain largely unknown, which makes its exact phylogenetic placement challenging.
The paleoenvironment in which Gigantiasta grew is thought to have been diverse, with fossils found in both
