Gernids

Gernids are a species of small, semi-aquatic mammals native to the wetlands and marshes of the Gernid Swamp in the northern regions of the continent of Eldoria. Gernids are social animals, living in small family groups that consist of a dominant adult pair and their offspring. These groups are led by the dominant male, who is responsible for defending the territory and ensuring the survival of the group.

Gernids are an important part of the ecosystem of the Gernid Swamp, serving as both prey and predator. They are hunted by larger predators such as the swamp tiger and the giant otter, while they in turn prey on smaller animals and insects. Gernids are also known to play a role in the dispersal of seeds, as their feeding habits often involve consuming and dispersing the fruits and seeds of aquatic plants.
